Abstract

Act 16 of 2023 amends the Customs and Excise Act by introducing a new Part VIIIA that establishes licensing procedures for export warehouses, defines the scope and requirements for operating such warehouses, and grants the Commissioner General authority to issue, revoke, or impose conditions on licenses. Additionally, it amends definitions related to duty and export warehouses, streamlining export procedures and enhancing regulatory oversight of goods prior to exportation in Malawi
